Air navigation is the process of piloting an aircraft from one geographic position to another while monitoring one's position as the flight progresses. It is accomplished by various methods which depend on the type of flight, the navigation systems installed on the aircraft as well as the navigation systems available in the airspace through which the flight is to take place.
This course examines some of the methods available for navigation and the basic techniques involved in the navigation of an airplane. Students will learn the basic principles of navigation so as to use this knowledge in ATS operations.
